Cigarettes not smoked in 7 days. Yee Haw!
Actually, I've been inspired by missioncontrol and paige to start this quit. Thanks guys for posting your quit info. Tonight at 9:30 marks the end of week one! Gonna start jogging tonight to see if this helps.
So far, My quit so far just paid for two Wico 8 way LEAF joysticks that I bought from Kremmit!!!! Woo Hoo.

Well done!

You were smoking 14 cigs a day? Wow. Are you going cold turkey, or using a patch, or anything?
-
Happy to hear that man!
Its always good to quit. You should now open an new savings account. And have the amount of money you would have spent on ciggarettes deducted and put into the account for saving.
The amount will amass... it will be gone just like its always been and every now in then you can buy yourself something nice.
:D

Yep, 12-15 a day, and more on the weekend when drinking! Cold Turkey is how I'm doing it. I've read a lot about the Patch and The Gum and it is suggested that it cannot work for some because you are continuring to put nicotine into your system. I'd rather deal with the 3 or 4 days to get over the physical addiction, then deal with the Mind Games later.
Thanks guys for your well wishes... Goble, Goble, Goble ;)

I think a nipple in the mouth makes a fine substitute for a cigarette myself...
The thought makes me so happy I could cry. :'(

I encourage anyone else here smoking to give quitting a try....
Cheers!
Jabba,
Good luck to you, the first 2 weeks are the worst and then everything seems to return to normal right after that. I quit myself on July 5th and have not had a smoke since. Addiction is a rough little ride so do not forget to reward yourself weekly!!!
As a reward from my not smoking this long I decided to purchase a MS Pac Man and Pac Man machine which both need serious restorations. You have to love that extra cashflow from not spending $6 a day.
Again, Good luck!!!

Be careful over the weekend, that's when you'll be most likely to backslide.

Two weeks and no smokes, at this point you should be able to do it no problem, a couple more weeks and you can consider them snuffed out permanently. Good luck!

Smoking is the devil.
Smoking has no benefits whatsoever. Whenever you want a smoke. Instead just go play MAME.. im sure it would take your mind off of it 8)

Thanks for the thought MC. Yep, still going strong...
Three weeks, three days, 12 hours, 59 minutes and 3 seconds. 368 cigarettes not smoked, saving $132.52. Life saved: 1 day, 6 hours, 40 minutes.
You can look at that time, and add a week, thats the last time I had a beer (or any booze for that matter). Hopefully some of the molson muscle will start dissolving
-
grats you guys! keep goin
-
still hanging in there. The only time I get a real bad craving for one is when I leave work and I'm in my truck, but it passes. I can't even image me picking up a cigarette ever again. I haven't really noticed an increase in savings for me must be spending it on gas.
an no that's not bean burritos
edit: note to self spell check is on the right not left
