Title: Houston Falls, Philly Still Alive
Post by: duffjr on September 30, 2005, 11:31:27 pm
Anyone watch the games tonight?  Zambrano came through but can we expect the Cubs pitching to hold up against Clemens?  That 6-run blowout against Pit last week may have scarred him.  This guy always chokes when the pressure's on.  In other news, Cleveland blew a shot in the 11th with one out and bases loaded.  Looks like they'll need a double Sox sweep for a good shot at the wildcard.

The Cub blew it.  I would have liked to see Philly fight for a spot.  Runners on 2nd and 3rd and they leave Maddux in to hit with 2 outs.  His arm was done.  Then the shortstop decides to throw to 2nd for some idiotic reason and the runner scores all the way from first.  They fell apart, and anyone has a chance of taking the NLDS with the Cardinals' slumping pitching.

I thought that line drive was up the middle.  I would have loved to see Philly's bats.  I'm still pissed about Houston choking and forcing Stl to get swept by the Red Sox.   Pitching duels in the NLDS's this year.  ::)  Anyone taking San Diego?   ;D
