Title: Take apart cabinet?
Post by: Darq on September 30, 2005, 11:07:50 pm
I've done some searching but couldn't find it.  I am looking for a thread about a cabinet that can be taken apart for easy transport.  Anyone help me out with a link?

SlikStik www.slikstik.com carries very good quality cabinets that can be dissasembled.

Here is a good review of the product

Some people have made the UAII cab so that it can break into 2 pieces for easy transportation.  It doesn't fully break down though, it's just a top and bottom piece

That's the site with the plans and kits for UAII cabs.  It will give you an idea of how they look.  You can tell where they disassemble.  The top monitor part comes off the lower part, and the control panel comes off as well.

I'm actually not sure if its a "feature" of that cab design, or just someting people have done.  I know for a fact a number of people on the board have done it before, though I don't have links off hand.  Take a look at the Project Announcement board... there have been quite a few cabs that disassembled in one way or another.

Good luck.

I built mine to be able to remove the CP, Top and Bottom for a total of 3 pieces.  In this pic you'll see the set of 6 exposed bolts on the side.  Those allow me to remove the top half from the bottom half.  Did this so I can transport it fairly easy when we decide to move:

Any pics of it in pieces or construction?  I'd like to see how its held together exactly and supported.
