I have a 19" wg k7000 series I'd like to be rock solid. I figure a new chassis is the best way. What's the best source? The one source I know of is 8liners.

Repair that chassis.
8 liners are for when you can't get the original repaired, or it's missing.
7000's are dead easy to fix.
And the quality of these chassis are still alot better than the jenshin stuff 8liners sell.
(Not to knock 8liners, I built a 27" using one of thier chassis and it looks good)
Plenty of repair guides for them.
Look over at Randy Fromms site.

I can repair it, but i'm selling the cab, and want the new one to be reliable. Don't want it going out in 3 months like a 15 year old chassis may go out.

That monitor was working before your capkit.
K7000s are reliable monitors, as long as they're not abused.
If all else fails, send me the chassis (PACK IT WELL). I've got lots of tubes to bench test it with, and a guy with a lot of experience doing this kind of thing. Bet it's something simple.

Better monitor repair people than I have spoken. I will repair this chassis. :)
First attempt is definitely just reflowing joints all over the place. This one came to me with lots of sloppy joints, I fear shorting two that weren't meant to be connected.
