Title: Mouse jacked up?
Post by: JackTucky on September 29, 2005, 10:40:01 am: I gave my brother in law and his family a complete PC after he lost everything in a house fire. I joked with him I was happy to help, but now I would be responsible for support.

Well, I got my first support call yesterday :laugh:

He says he needs to keep his mouse pointer about 1-2 inches below an icon, or start button, to click on it. Normally, a reboot will fix it for a few minutes, but the problem will reappear within an hour or two.

I've been searching google, no help.

I'm thinking it's either a video or mouse driver issue. I'm going to bring another mouse too just in case.

Anyone ever seen this?

Update. It works fine as long as he is actively using it. if he goes away from computer for any period of time, it's messed up.

The video card in there is a number nine. SO, there are no new drivers, ever, as they are out of business.

It's hard enough just to find the darn things.
