Title: More affordable alternatives to a WG 9200?
Post by: rbarr110 on September 28, 2005, 04:04:16 pm
Now that my cab is almost complete
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=43665.0

I put all this effort and a fair amount of $$ into making the cab I really want it to be more of an arcade cabinet and not an overblown computer desk.  I really don't like the looks and idea of using a 19" PC monitor.

I have done a bit of research and I really like the WG D9200 monitor to complete the look of the cab, but at $470 + shipping, my wife will KILL me.  I was hoping to get some input on alternative arcade monitor options that may be more affordable with the least amount of modifications required.

I want to connect through a VGA signal, Windows looks horrible through S-video on a tv.

Thanks

Are you looking at Windows or are you playing Games?

Since you were looking at a 19 inch PC monitor have you thought about a 19 inch Arcade Monitor?

The only reason I was looking at using a 19" PC monitor is because I have one collecting dust in my garage.  I haven't see any 19" arcacde monitors yet, where can I find those at?

Thanks

Wells Gardner sells them.  Happs does.  For some reason the other manufactures escape me.  Off the top off my head, I think they are around $200, but may be wrong.

Also, a 19 inch Arcade Monitor will be slightly bigger then a 19inch PC monitor.  I believe it will be more like a 21 inch.
