Hey Chad.
Just saw your listing on Mr. Pinball for the TZ machine. You can't keep it? :(
Not sure if I can scrape up $2400, but let me know if you can't sell it locally, I might be interested.
-
Yeah, there are more details in the project thread about it. Basically, at this time, my family needs the money we will get from the sale more than we need the TZ. It is currently under agreement with a local buyer and should be gone by the weekend of 10/9.
I'm not actually all that broken up about it. With the price I am getting, I will have made about $400 profit on both pins I bought that day... which means that since I still have the Shadow, I have acquired a Shadow and $400 in return for shopping out this TZ.
That's not a bad deal. :)
-
Ouch, just read your project thread... :/ Sorry to hear the way some people are treating this for you. I hope everything works out.
-
Thanks.

$400 and a free Shadow. Sounds like you came out smelling like a daisy with this deal. :)
Hate to see you lose the TZ though.

I've been off and on about the idea of selling it or trading it the whole time. Since I got mine, I've had the chance to play several collector quality TZs. I have not been gripped by the gameplay. Either I'm not good enough yet or it's just not my style.
I want a WWF Royal Rumble.
-
So how do you like The Shadow? I don't think I've ever played one.

I'll let you know when it's up and running better. It has been sitting next to the TZ, untouched, while we worked on the TZ. You can even see it in the project completion photos I posted.
We, uh, used it as the worktable. All of the stuff we needed access to during the TZ project sat on the Shadow. :-[

I've played the shadow a few times. It's pretty fun, but I'd pick a TZ or addam's family over it hands down, even possibly in less repair. It got old for me pretty quick. LOTS of other worse pinballs out there than the shadow though.
-
TZ seems to me to be way too stop, go, pick a shot, stand there and think, try the shot, stop, hold, get a drink... not my style.
I'm finding as I get more and more pins in my playbelt that the really complex DMD games aren't my thing. I don't like having to take my eyes off the playfield for 25 seconds to watch something on the DMD.
-
Screw DMD.
Solid State 4 life, yo.
-
DMD pins are solid state, yo.
-
Technically, yes. Spiritually, never.
-
Without DMD, you would not be able to play Find Doink on a Royal Rumble.
-
Chad can't find his doink. ;)

It's hiding in an outhole.

I heard you were a straight down the middle kind of guy.....
