I saw on a website a extender a guy used on his cabinet that had all the hookups for the motherboard at one end then a nicely wrapped wire that went to a small unit with led's and buttons for power and reset. The name on the device was Ignition. He said he bought it at comp geeks but i can find it there. I really dont feel like building it due to the fact that he said it only costed $10. Any ideas?

That is the exact website that i found it on. I cant find it on the web anywhere else but it seems like a cool device. I think I will hard wire the power to some happ buttons I placd on the upper back of the cabinet, all secret like.

Just wire any old momentary switch to the "power on" header on your atx motherboard.. That's all this is (but with other buttons for reset and leds, that you probably dont need).
This wont turn your monitor on/off. If it was a modern PC monitor, I'd just let it sleep (standby mode) when the cab is off, that's what my PC monitor does (I rarely actually power it off).
You could also short your power header on the motherboard (a momentary short sends a poweron signal, but most I've played with will always power on if shorted), plug everything into a regular power strip, and splice a regular SPST switch onto the hot wire, and let 'er rip.
This wont let your PC "cleanly" shut down, but I'd handle that in software - an industrialized PC (like one in an arcade) should be able to handle a power bounce. It's only a problem if power fails in the middle of a disk write, which shouldnt be an issue on an arcade cab which should do little if any writing to disc, save for hiscore.dat once in a blue..

Thats what I am going to do now. Only I do need the reset switch also, have to hit reset to power the monitor on. so I will just wire up both to the happ buttons on the back of the cabinet. I liked this device though and thought it was kinda neat. I was going to mount it on the keyboard tray that way everything is hidden but still looks fairly clean when the tray is open.

Ok, I know this is completely off topic but does the red text in the warning box (with rotating skull 3/4 down page) look like it's floating in front of the blue text? I looked at it on two different monitors and it definitely looks like it is floating - maybe it's just me. Weird effect.

Do you wear glasses? You may be experiencing chromatic abberation.
