Title: Questions on Phoenix scoring for Phoenix pros

Can someone tell me the logic on destroying the mothership and scoring?    Sometimes I just shoot a hole straight through and get 2-3 thousand and sometimes I blow the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- out of everything and get no points.   What is the logic in the scoring.    Thanks...

It appears to me that the sooner you blow it up, the more points you earn. Although in practice, there appears to be no real logic. It is quite weird actually.

There appears to be a bug in the program - Normally, you are supposed to get the thing almost at the bottom, and you will get 8,200 points. Theoretically, the lower you let it go, the more points you get. But I have seen the same thing - I get it really close to the bottom and no points. Pisses me off !
