I'm sure this has been here before, but couldn't find it, so here goes. Seemed topical.
How many forum members does it takes to change a light bulb?
1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
1 to move it to the Lighting section
2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section
7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
5 to flame the spell checkers
3 to correct spelling/grammar flames
6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs
4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's
3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"
5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy
4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"

+4 to take the thread in an entirely random direction, probably adding bacon
-
+1 to make it into something negative about George "Dim Bulb" Bush...because, well....why not? ;)
+3 to counter that post.
mrC
-
+2 to have to come back and review each of Mr C's edits.

I've already set my alarm ;D

surly there will be people posting the pictures of the lightbulb posing with bacon

Or, hopefully cheesecake!

I already tried the cheesecake, it somehow managed to rip reality and it became it's own thread.

the power of cheesecake

+1 to randomly post a picture of Tronguy getting it on with the bus stop lady.
Not even I would sink that low. ;)

yuck what a revolting mental image........
trying to get me back for the other thread???
-
Sorry, that was a mean thing to do. Sad thing is, given the chance, I'd do it again.

I'm tired of this crap. Tron Guy is a legend. He is a pioneer.
Tron Guy invented Cosplay.
-
heh
the tron guy is Chad's hero.........

Without Tron Guy, there would be no Anjelina Jolie as Lara Croft.

I have no idea what this means, but since I believe everything I read online, I'm forced to agree.

Couldn't we just skip the tron guy and dive right into Anjelina Jolie as Lara Croft.
-
I agree, I would like to get into Anjelina Jolie as Lara Croft.
-
Ok. this post should really be in the board discussion section since we are talking about forum members. ;D

I can't seem to find that image WITHOUT the coat on. She made one heck of a dominatrix.

+1 -- I like light bulbs. ;D
-
I like the low wattage spiraly type. They use less power and don't burn out every 2 months.
-
Plus they look cool.

-
They extend out farther, though, which is a pain. Our kitchen light assembly has three of them but they all poke out past the glass fitting. It annoys me.
-
my kids' bedrooms have these little lightbulgs about half the size of a normal lightbulb and everytime one burns out we never have an extra one around.
-
Our upstairs hallway had a light fixture that required a longer but regular wattage bulb. It's usually marketed as a garage bulb but they're hard to find. The part of the fixture requiring the long bulb for clearance was just some metal, nothing electrical. I broke out the dremel, altered the housing, and wappap we're using curly bulbs up there now. Those stupid long bulbs would burn out every 4 months, now we've had a curly in there for a year. The light is better now too.
-
Ever notice that the 'extended life lightbulbs' you see around are simply 130v bulbs instead of 120v? I guess it makes for a longer lifetime.

Who'da thunk you'd find a pic with both cheesecake and lightbulb???
-
so the extra ten volts makes for lesser voltage? odd.
-
Less current, less heat, filament lasts longer? Mebbe heavier filament designed for 130v lasts longer at 120v?
I'm sure someone will correct me. This seems too simple to be true. :) All I know is that it seems to work.
I've got a couple of nightlights at my shop - they are old, 250v bulbs on 120v circuits. Not very bright, but been burning for ~ 12 years now.
-
I was making fun of the fact that you said the 120v bulbs were reduced to 130v.
-
Heh - gotta remember to read before I hit post...

Ooh, we get another cheesecake thread?
Yep. It all started with a lighbulb.

My light bulb isn't working, any troubleshooting? I flipped the switch, and nothing.

It's Tronguy, not "Tron Guy"... sheesh.
