Title: Firefox and flash
Post by: paigeoliver on September 19, 2005, 04:05:22 am
Is there any way to easily turn flash support on and off in Firefox, or have one firefox install that has flash and another that doesn't?

You can run mobile firefox, or firefox to go, or whatever it's called.   The point of it is to have a self-contained browser with all your bookmarks and stuff that can be run from a USB flash drive when plugged into any computer.  I'm sure it could simply be run from a folder on your computer instead of from a USB drive.

Ah...here's what you're looking for:

Flashblock is an extension for the Mozilla and Firefox browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Macromedia Flash content on a webpage and blocks ALL Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content.  (http://flashblock.mozdev.org/)
