I have found a gentleman who has a Space Invaders cabinet in perfect working condition. I'm going tomorrow to look at it and the guy said $100 obo. ;) What a steal. I told him I wanted it regardless, but couldnt make it till tomorrow.

For this deaL.... I will MAKE room. Its a fully working. He said that he has it hooked up and ready to go! The only thing he said was that the coin mechs were a little gummed up, but everything works very well. Its a stand up and I can make it fit into my bedroom for now. LOL.

He said he cant HOLD it. So I am gonna try to get out there tonight to look at it and put money down. Wont have a vehicle till tomorrow to get it. Then its the fight upstairs into my apartment. LOL. Yay!

And I speak from experience when I say that the classic Space Invaders bass never sounded better than when it comes thumping out of the real hardware. :)

I saw one go for $15 at an auction once.

Alright. Just went and looked at the machine. Several issues with the machine. First thing I noticed on power up was a distorted image on the monitor. The guy who owns the machine reached in and hit the V-Hold and it cleared up. However it had stationary lines throughout the picture at roughly 45 degrees. Also the top left corner of the image was mushing in and out like a sine wave. The graphics themselves had vertical drop out. So basically you could see black lines and they cut off about half of the image. Also he drilled out the lock for the upper rear door, and broke the lock housing doing such.
The art looked fairly good. It could use some touch up on the sides and the front panel. The glass looked near perfect. At first I only saw the reflected image from the monitor, but upon checking inside, thereflective glass was dirty and the moon and the space background was still in place. The florescent light was lit but very dim. Also the green translucent film was also still in place. No manual was found but everything else seemed to be there. I neglected to jot down the serial number off of the plate.
One coin mech worked, the other didnt, it appeared to have something jammed into it, but was fixable. Coin reject buttons had rust on them. Coin counter showed 70069 plays.
If I had the space I would definitely take this home. I have room for the cabinet, but not room to work on it and make it mint. If anyone is interested in this machine PM me. Its located in Bloomfield, IN. I have the guys phone number and will give it to anyone who is wanting this.

5 minute fix, it's a bad drive transistor.

Nothing sounds too serious too me. It's still a very good deal at $100.

buy it anyways, then sell it.
ps: dont attempt to get it up stairs by yourself.

wow, almost worth the road trip back to Indiana and pick this up........
but I've got too much going on now :(
