back in the day when I got my first HDTV, I bought a rat shack antenna called the "double bow tie"  it was a $3 indoor antenna  on clearance and it worked so well  it's still in use on my new TV.   ;D

I'm about 15 miles from the broadcast towers and single story.

Since you're in a pretty decent area, I would assume you could get by with any type of antenna.  I would start with the typical rabbit ear type and move up from there if you have problems.

try them too, they might have some good info about where your broadcasts are coming from.

btw I would HIGHLY suggest direct TV or dishnet.  HD HBO is worth the price of admission, along with ESPNHD and DiscoveryHD.
