Im nervous...
-
Get drunk.
-
alone? lol
::eyes his hard liquor collection on the dresser::
-
I wouldn't sweat it at all. Unless the engineer is a complete a-hole, he/she will do their part to HELP you. They should be working for/with you, not against you.
This is in complete opposition to the angry, drunk, frat-boy who's pissed off at you because the girl at the club/bar is looking at you instead of him. Being in the studio should be cake.
Good luck.
-
You'll rock the house, little DDR dude. (http://mpwwc.stingraysmadness.com/images/smiles/otto.gif)
-S ;)

Or he gets the engineer who considers this beneath him, a rentajob guy buying his irrelevant studio time.
Which is, of course, wrong, but like Japanese tourists the stupid are everywhere.
-
flog the dolphin.... bop the bologna... let loose the poisen.. hook up with someone.. it will relieve the stress and if not well then you're still having a pretty good day. ;D
oh and good luck

Im nervous... I dunno why cause I play live all the time, and this is just gonna be me and some sound engineer in a room. But i dunno, it needs to be perfect, im afraid im gonna keep messing up.... anxiety
Speaking as a sound engineer, usually they will only try to get you to perform to the best of your abilities. don't worry about messing up just keep playing until the song is over. Thats the most important part. any decent engineer should be able to do punch-ins without a problem.
As far as the anxiety goes, go ahead and use some form "relaxant", but not too much. You want to be relaxed enough to not freak out or be overly nervous. But you don't want to be wasted and unable to perform properly.
-
Use your mad pr0n skillz.
-
im a little bit more relaxed today, yesterday i was kinda high strung from 6 hours of work then 6 hours of school in a row =\
3 hours!
-
I'd roll the cannoli just to be that much more relaxed. No sense in having any pent up stuff.
Of course, that pretty much always applies.
-
roll the cannoli , lmao. i dunno why that just made me laugh for a full minute. never heard that one
-
I make them up as I go along.
-
Laughing at "roll the cannoli" over here too. ;D

You two need to get out more I remember hearing that term back in the day........
-
Odd coincedence since I made it up as I typed it in.
My favorite has always been to hold your sausage hostage. Can't say I made that one up, though.

forgoeing the euphamisms for self pleasure for a second...
It's probably too late, but I wouldn't worry about it. I would imagine the engineer will be indifferent. When I was an intern at a recording studio it was all you could do to stay sane when a bad/bland performer was doing endless takes of the same song.
You just cue them and hit record (after setting up mics/levels/processing etc)
I don't think you'll have it (what are you recording exactly again?) like in the star wars ring tones commercial where the producer says "ok again with more feeling..." .. "I love it, now make me hate it..." etc... "more vibrato" "less vibrato" "we'll fix it in the mix :P"
good luck!

Stop repressing the natural evolution of our conversation.

So, to sum up, his songs are like something, but different from something.
-
A bit like a liquid that tastes almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.

-
exactly
-
Sort of.
-
The one time I was able to get some studio time was probably one of the most enjoyable experiences I've ever had. I still wish I could give more of my music the studio treatment, as opposed to the old 4-track cassette treatment.
You'll do fine.

theyre up =)
not bad for 2 hours in the studio, minimal mixing time, and 50$
-
Listening now. I'm taking down your photographs and hopes that they were.
-
Very well played, awesome job.
-
Really well done, Seph. I really liked your guitar playing. When's the 45 come out? (2 songs, 2 sides, a/b) 8)
-
*Ahem*
NEEDS MORE COWBELL!!!!
(needed to be said)

Hey not bad man!

The network here filters out an astonishing array of stuff. I can't get the songs to download or play or whatever is supposed to happen when I visit that page.

thx guys =)

I see an artist search on that page, but I don't know who to search for. I tried Sephroth57 and Drewcifer. No dice.

You're in NJ aren't you Seph?
The record label I'm working with is looking for as many submissions as possible for future comps, so if you're interested, let me know. I can't make any promises obviously, especially since we're not even sure what genre we're running with on our next record, but it can't hurt to throw your stuff in the mix.

fixed the link, try it now
Yeah that would be awesome pointdablame, you need me to send you the .wav files?

.wavs or .mp3s would be good so I can give them to teh A&R group, but ideally we'd need a hard copy. A burnt CD with the tracks is fine, and some contact info. PM me if you'd like to do it.

Second link is working for me now. It's actually quite good. Well done.

Any chance you could fit in some really cool 80's synthesized music (Art of Noise'ish'!) and some scratchin' on your next release? Or maybe you could make a club mix... ::)
