Okay guys, I have put the joysticks into my CP and am not sure how to convert the joystick into a 4 way? My guess is i screwed up the 8 way joysticks too? Please let me know how they are supposed to go. (yes I did follow the instructions that came with the joystick )
If anyone could post a pic or two it would really help... I believe I may have put the joysticks in wrong... but I have not finished the wiring yet.
Thanks for the help

you just change the actuator on the bottom of the stick. Flip it and its a 4way... although honestly... they are horrible 4ways IMHO

They aren't the best 4-ways, for sure. But they aren't horrible.

I have used them all, the only ones worse are the 4-way modes on Happ's Ultimate and Competition sticks.
Note, you can stick a Super handle on a Ms. Pac Reunion base to get a great 4-way stick that matches your other ones.

Change the actuator on the bottom of the stick? Sorry pretty new to all this stuff (although my control panel is almost done as is my mame machine)

rubber/plastic piece on the bottom of the joystick shaft.

The barbell-shaped thingie 2nd from the bottom on the left-hand side. Take it off and flip it over, then put it back on.
You'll get better results with what Paige suggested, though.
