I just received 2 Happs P360 joysticks. The tension on one of the joysticks is much tighter than on the other one. The difference is very apparent. Also, on the one that is "tighter" it makes a little "clicking" noise when I move the joystick around as if there is some part inside that is slipping against another part. I must have disassembled and reassembled it 20 times and it still makes that clicking noise...I believe it's parts rubbing against each other because the spring tension is too tight...but I'm not sure at all.
Anyone experience this? I wish I knew which one was the "normal" joystick...all I can say is that the "tighter" one is REALLY tight. It took quite an effort just to put the e ring on.

I hate replying to my own threads, but I did a quick search on google for "happs p360 spring tension" and found a review regarding the P360 where the reviewer said it had one of the stronger spring tensions he'd ever experienced and putting on the e ring was a royal pain. So I guess I have 2 issues now. One is a P360 with 2 WEAK of a spring and the other is a P360 that makes a clicking noise when it's moved around.
I guess this is where I go to Happs, but if anyone has any "quick fixes" to any of my symptoms, I'm all ears.

I went ahead and opened up the "housing" and pulled out the 2 springs. They are definitely of different tensions...and I mean a BIG difference. On one hand, it kinda gives me a sour feeling about Happs' QC...but on the other hand, at least I can get a spring to match the tension I like...out of the 2 P360's I had, I thought one was too loose and the other was too tight...so something in between would be perfect. Now I just gotta find the springs.

I know it's not the same thing, but I've had issues with my Wicos where, occasionally, they'll do the same "clicking" that you describe after I've dis-assembled and then re-assembled them. In those situations, the spring around the shaft is also very tight and it's difficult to put the e-clip back on.
Clearly, in my case, there is something inside that's not quite lining up correctly. I've never been able to identify exactly what it is, but I believe it has something to do with how the spring sits and compresses.
Again, I don't think this is exactly what you're describing, because the spring on the Wico doesn't affect the tension of the joystick. The tension is a product of the rubber grommet, but beyond that, what you're describing sounds very familiar to me and my solution is to basically take them apart and re-assemble them until everything sits correctly.

I think we may have the same problem. The tension is VERY tight on that joystick and I believe it's causing parts to rub against each other too hard. I'm going to swap springs with the other joystick and see if the problem follows the spring or not.
