Post by: oznetradio on September 09, 2005, 02:57:34 am
Anyone here had any experience with using one of those 7" or 8" touchscreen that you can pick up on Ebay? I'd be interested to here your thoughts on their suitability i.e. is the quality OK etc.
I'd be interested to hear thoughts your thoughts if you have used one of these things.

I use these touchscreens in my car (puter in the car touchscreen in the dash to control it)

They look good they are a 16:9 aspect ratio tho but 800x600 looks good on them altho the real res u want is something like 840 x 680 for a crisp view altho it looks as good as a normal monitor to me so it doesn't matter what res your looking at.

But cause the touchscreen is an overlay it blocks out the light so you will notice shine off the screen from a light etc.

All depends on the type of project your doing if its a jukebox and the screen will be or almost be at eye level then it will work out great.

I use it in my car everyday and it is very cool even use mame on it now and then ;)
