I have an old Act-Labs GS system...it runs in Windows 98...I've never hooked these up, 2 guns, a base, they run through the game port, and have a monitor passthrough...
Does anyone know if these can work like a mouse, in Win98, or if MAME supports these guns?
I have House of the Dead 1, 2 and 3 and would love to use the guns, but I don't want to go through the hassle of trying to get these working, if someone already knows for sure that they don't...

They don't really work with any software. Sucks... I have a set that I bought, paid too much for shipping... had to buy a power adapter for... and they suck... but at the time, they where the only option.
So until someone uses their calibration software in mame, don't expect much.

It says there is a handheld mouse option...
Also, here's something I've found for MAME, but haven't tried it...
Directions:
First install the supplied drivers. Then calibrate your gun under "Game Controllers" in Win 95/98. In your emulator check mark the joystick, mouse and light gun boxes. Start the game you want to play and hit the "Tab" key. Go to analog settings and select "Y-Axis", press "Enter" direct your gun at the screen and click the trigger. Do the same for "X-Axis". Return to your game.
I dunno if it works or not...I think I may give it a go...I have an old force feedback steering wheel that only works with Win98...if they're any good, I have no problem rebooting my cab and running to play race games and shooters...I guess I can create a dual boot machine, or setup VM Ware or something...

They do... but their drivers suck so bad that they loose their calibration if you touch a mouse.
So to calibrate, you shoot at a point on the screen, then move the mouse cursor to that point... Then your done... DONT touch that mouse again...
And thats just 1 of the two guns..
And they suck even when calibrated (as a mouse)
the mouse driver never made it past beta... and I think I know why
