Ok... I here's wat NOT to do to an xbox.... Take apart a controller that you're going to use for an arcade deck, and rip off all the unneeded switches and potentiometers.... it will shortcircut your xbox!!!
Well... atleast I think thats what happened.... Does anyone know if ripping off the trigger potentiometers and the tumbstick things will shortcircut the xbox? I have to buy a new one now XD

Don't know about shortcircuit, but the controllers probably rely on the analog controls being connected...why did you remove the pots?

well... they were going to get in the way... and I accidentaly ripped off one of them... and I like symmetry :P

should only short circuit if you managed to tear a trace and cross the wires, even then I dont see how you could manage that. Not to mention the xbox controllers are just USB controllers. Never been able to kill a device with a USB cable with anything short of plugging it into a wall outlet (which you shouldnt do ;) )
