I've seen a few other threads and information on hacking a NES controller to hook up to your PC through paralell port..
but how about if you have the NES itself.. is there anyway to hack the controller jack portion?
So it would look like this... NES controller -> NES plug -> hack to paralell or wherever.
It would be cool to not only use authentic controllers.. but have the authentic port for it too... plus would make it easily detachable on the front of a cabinet..

Check my thread here:

Hope I can get it to work...

I did a pair of PSX controllers to the parallel port.
Nes and snes to lpt port conversions only involve
putting in a few diodes and jumper wires.I hacked a PSX
Extention cable so my controllers are un-modified and they just plug into the normal psx connector on the front of my cab. I run the directpad pro software and it works great.

Somewhat besides the point:
For psx controllers you might want to consider picking up a psx to usb converter. Provided you're not using an older computer, you'll probably have several usb ports making multiplayer more of a possibility.
I'm planning on picking up a couple of these for a project that's still in the idea phase:

I wonder if it would be possible to convert other controllers to USB? (NES, SNES, Genesis, etc)
