Title: Snow blower: Need side graphic ideas
Post by: Zakk on September 05, 2005, 01:09:33 am
Not really for the graphic forum, since I need you guys and your particular wit to help with this.

Got a new snowblower today, a crazy 11hp monster.  Being on a rather competitive-atmosphere street (street party this, street competition that), I need to have the end all of blowers.  Now I beat them on the horsepower I think, but I want to go over the top with a graphic for the side.  I can airbrush almost anything, but I need a good idea.  So far I have the typical wwII airplane grin.  Any other ideas??

Um....you're really such a dork for wanting to do this ;)

What's that make us for wanting to help you "stump the Joneseses"? ;D

I've got a suggestion that'll prolly start a slew of ideas rolling in.

POST A PICTURE OF THE SNOWBLOWER, YA DORK!

How can we tell you what'll be cool if we don't know what we're working with?

The first thing I thought when I opened this thread is "dude, are you gonna sit the plane at the end of the driveway and fire it up?  That's a WICKED idea for a snow"blower"!

Now that I know that plane isn't your snow"blower", I'm far less impressed, and I'm starting to think you're a tad bit of a Nancy. ;)

What's a snow blower?

Until otherwised advise I am assuming it's a snowlady with an open mouth.

What's a snow blower?
Instead of shoveling snow, you use a snow blower, which basically chops it up and shoots it in some specified direction.  Here's a picture of a typical one:

You people that live where it snows....  With your funny hats and shovels and "snow blowers", what a crazy country.

My idea, and I don't know if it'll work somehow with your machine, but I know you'll appreciate the sick humor involved:

Make it look like Santa's fallen head-first into the business end of that thing and is being spit out the chute.....kinda like the "feet hanging out of the trunk" gag (if you've ever seen that)

Jaws, with the chute painted as the fin

A roller, like for gerbils or hamsters, painted on the side with 2-3 gerbils painted running that thing to make it appear as if you've got the only hamster-powered 'blower on the block

Stitch's (Lilo & Stitch) mouth wide open, so as to appear as if he's eating all the snow...mebbe paint the chute with his body.  "Hey look! It's Stitch's snowbunghole!"

Here's a couple of shots.  I was pretty juiced last night, didn't even remember I wanted to do this, but now I'm stuck on it again! :)

I guess a pic or two would help.

You should paint it completely white so it's invisible next to the snow banks.  Then it'll look like you're walking around kicking the snow really far.

I like the Santa idea too.  Or how about a beach scene?  Something absurdly summery with lots of warm colors.  Or paint it to look like a wino puking up the snow.  Can't forget Pac-Man, either.

You've got them beat on horsepower, so there's really only one option...

Hot rod flames.

'nuff said. :)

We got a snow blower last season, and splurged for the enclosed canopy for it.... it was great being out there watching all the suckers on my street out in the snow shoveling and/or using the snowblower when I was enclosed with no cold wind or snow in my face ;)

I think you're right.

I've already ordered the hood/canopy, it'll just take a while to get it in :)

Where's that snow?

Zakk, as a fellow Canuck, please don't be asking for that white stuff. The white snow god in the sky may HEAR you! You'll have plenty of time to play with your new toy soon enough (we both have the same model Murray).

I like the Original Plane graphic idea you had to begin with. That would definately be my choice and will be the envy of the street. Santa only comes once a year and would soon be stale in Feb......
