Title: My brand new (old-radio fashioned) jukebox project
Post by: hvico on August 31, 2005, 06:42:18 pm
Here it goes mine! It is a brand new project, so it has some visual details to fix.  I started it last week but it is already singing and dancing!  (using DOSCAB for DOS, thank you CHRIS  :D). I spent very little money using computer parts I had here and there and an old piece of furniture as the base (a little table intended to hold a Hi-Fi)

Hard Specs:
-------------
Asus Mobo w/ Pentium 200 MMX
128 Mb RAM
2 x 8.5 Gigabytes hard drives (17 Gig total)
Sound Blaster Vibra 16 (ISA PNP)
Genius 4.1 Speakers
12" SVGA (800x600) Monochrome Monitor
10/100 Realtek NIC

Soft Specs:
------------
- DOS 7.0 (Win98) (just the command line stuff)
- DOSCAB 3.0 Beta 8
- Sound Blaster's DOS software (mixer, etc)
- MandrakeLinux 10.1 Community (loaded from DOS using LOADLIN) (this is intented for loading MP3 over the LAN and general JUKEBOX administration (SSH, ID3 Tagging tools, WMA2MP3 converter, etc, etc).

I've made the control panel from a very cheap computer keyboard (I post a picture of my first version, the one that is in the jukebox is the second one, and BTW buttons are in spanish  ;D)
