Actually, a friend in college had an advertising project to do for E-Z cheese.

She came up with the slogan: Not just for crackers anymore. She'd have various other pictures people using EZ-cheese for various tasks.

I told her she needed to use Mr. T with her slogan.

are the 'crakers' something like the 'quakers'? you yanks have so many christian denominations its hard to keep up...

I always thought it refered only to whites from the deep south, but what do I know?

I never made the connection with "whip cracker" before. That's pretty sick, but I expect it is the true origin of the word.
