Title: LCD monitor specs
Post by: USSEnterprise on August 30, 2005, 04:01:15 pm
What should I look for in an LCD monitor? I have to use one for my cab because of space restrictions.

if you are looking at having to use a tft screen for your cabinet then just go for the largest size you can fit in (19" is equivalent to a 20" crt), with the fastest response time (12ms or better) and the widest viewing angle you can find.

however from personal experience I can say that a tft screen just does not compare with a decent arcade monitor. (currently using my 20" tft in my cabinet after my arcade monitor fried...... I want the arcade monitor back) the tft screen although it is crisp and clear it just doesnt look right at all.

Like I said, I cant. The section of my cab where the monitor will be is only 11" deep. No room for a CRT. I planned on getting a 19" monitor. What about the contrast ratio? and the pixel pitch?

I have an ancient 21" VGA monitor in the basement, and had planned on using it. But I had to cut the cabinet down in depth, from 26" to 11". The monitor is 24"deep
