Title: advmame + advmenu.. help with video
Post by: Brad Lee on January 06, 2003, 11:52:24 am
I've been messing with advmame/menu for dos in order to get the speed and video accuracy that I desire

My system is a P3/750mhz, 256mb ram. Video is a voodoo3(My Radeon died so this is a "for now" card), display is a PC svga monitor

What order do I need to config the programs, where do I put everything, etc

I can use the advv.exe utility to setup my video modes- but which takes precedence? do I want the video_modeline definitions in advmenu.rc or advmame.rc?
Once I get my preferred modes setup, centered, sized, etc- how do I make it so that it ONLY selects a mode from that lsit when I run a game? Or does it do that by default? On some games I'll get a blank screen and amber light like the monitor is out of sync. Is there a way in advmenu to select video options for a certain game, like in mame32 you can edit default options and then change optins on a per-game basis? I havent found it yet, although I printed the docs and will be reading them fully tonight.

I've got everything in a c:\mame structure which seems to be working once I make sure everything is correct in the .rc files.

Basically Im just looking for any pointers and tips that have helped people with the advmame/menu combination

Thanks
