Copied from a chat session. Most is for the VP guys, but there is a key piece for us too. Notice it says: "MAME Controller Hammer". Yes, I said "MAME CONTROLLER". Think he has permission? ::) I wonder if that's why he registered MAME? A "hammer" isn't going to sell well without the word "MAME" attached to it.

There are some links to pics that are there but not here, maybe someone can post them up, I'm tired.
Can someone ask around and see if Foley has the "exclusive right" to use MAME in part of the name for his products? I would greatly appreciate it.

David Foley makes a visit to the chatroom and here is a bit of what was said
davidrfoley Hi There

that was the longest post ever

I put it in bold! You'd think I'd know by now how lazy we all are around here. :P
-
Since all you clowns are too damn lazy to read the worlds longest post :P, here's the condensed version:
Foley is coming back. Attached is a pic of his "MAME Controller - Hammer". I'm curious if he got the rights to use "MAME" in his products.
The End.
PS: Seriously, although it really really looks like it, this is NOT a joke. Read the link.
The original post I had is here:

I thought you guys would be interested in:
"...our new version of Hammer is the best there is it uses a new custom 49 Way like the Happ, but with a spring instead of a rubber grommet for centering
and we mask the input in software to properly perform 4 way and 8 way translations we transmit both digital and analog inputs at the same time..."
-
interesting... although most of us here build our own stuff anyway, i could care less that foley does , the MAME police isnt gonna come to my garage and take away my arcade machine lol.
-
You are asking the wrong place about legallity though. Ask mame.net.
Anyway, what I found more interesting is he has a price that would fit the target market. $100 isn't that bad for all of that.
Wait, is the VP version of the controller pictured? If so $100 is pretty good for a 49way and tball setup.
-
Foley. Tool of fools.
-
hmmm... I think I paid $80.00 for my track ball alone.
maybe $60.00 can not remeber.
-
I paid $20 for 7 working Happs Trackballs.
-
LOL.... if it's only $100, then I'd buy it just so I could take the parts out and put them in my own control panel.. ;D
-
can he really make that $100 price point?
he says he gets 38% margin
