If you're going for restoration, you should remove the T-Molding, rather than try to work around it. It can always be replaced.
Same with the coin door, why try and work around it? It's meant for removal.

It's just plastic molding. You'll improve the looks 100% with new stuff. Unless, of course, the old stuff is in decent shape, then leave it.

It's in pretty nice shape except for 1 or 2 gouges. I'd take authentic over perfect, any day. That's sort of the point of what I am doing, otherwise I'd have stenciled new art on it ...

You're going to have to repaint the art, you know. Only way to get it looking right.
I'm really not trying to talk down your project - really - but there are things you'll have to take into consideration.
New T molding *would* be authentic. It's been color matched to the original.

The kickplate probably needs mostly repainted just because it is so far gone. The sides just need sprayed along the edges and then touched up in many places. Why do you think I am agonizing over getting the perfect color? So I can touch up. I don't care who thinks it can't be done. I'll do what I need to do to make it look right. And replacement T-molding is still a replacement.

I have the paint code for the original Pac-Man yellow. Do you need it?

Well I worked hard on this cab, getting a new cab would be like giving up (plus shipping is a beast.) Can you just post the code? If it is the 10-year old Sherwin Williams code, it is not even in the ballpark. Have you actually matched this code up with the original paint and there is no visible difference?

Here is the paint code. I got it from a guy who runs an arcade restoration shop out here in So Cal.
The second picture is the fresh paint applied to the front. The sides are untouched original paint. It is dead on as far as i'm concered. What do you think?
That's two coats of primer and three coats of paint.
Thoughts?
