Don't know if other people are aware:
One of the greatest platforming games on the Atari 8-bit ever was Miner2049er and it's sequel Bounty BobStrikes Back.
Of course you can play it on an Atari 8-bit emulator, but if you'd like it to run on windows, there's an emulator from the programmers themselves on:

You have to re-map your keyboard cause Esc is the jump key....
Have fun
Ow, the site is very nice, lots of stories about bigfivesoftware etc, and videos and stuff....great

I sent an email asking Bill Hogue (the author) about a version which allows the keys to be remapped. He responded the same day (surprised me), and jokingly said that he'll do it someyear, and then pointed me to a keyboard remapping utility.
Did you check out the Good Morning America video clip from the 1982? The funniest part was how the host had to explain what computer software is.

I gotta check this out.. Miner 2049er was one of my favorites as a kid on the c64

Sweet!! I have this game for years but never knew it existed!!!
I use CCS64 for Commodore and I have a DVD with about 10,000 roms on it so obviously I will never see 99% of them.
I checked it out and Bounty Bob was there.
I have always been a Miner2049er fan so this is really cool!!
Thanks!
