Perhaps for a vacuum chamber, you could use one of those vacu-seal food sealers? Mine came with a rigid plastic vacu-sealable tupperware-like container as well as something like a lexan cookie jar and lids that will work on mason jars.

How much would I pay for working volcano buttons that had whattever capacitors or resistors were neccessary and a wiring harness to make them plug and play to my IPAC? I bet I would pay fairly. Anyone INterested in selling such a product?
I bet I wouldn't be the only one willing to part with $$$. $40 each? $50?

BTW Dagger, have you polished the cone yet? (looks fairly shiny already). A bit of steel polish and a dremel with polishing bit = SHINYYYY! Almost like Chrome.

Bah. I think the holy grail of controls is the lunar lander roller :)
Anyway, yeah, volcanos are tough to find cheap. The best way to find them cheap is on ebay, find a control panel with them on it.
$40-$50, nope. I'd maybe pay $20-$30 for one. I could take my pair that I got off ebay for $30 and goto the local hobby shop and see if anyone knows how to do this process.

Sir Poonga. I could easily pay $70 for a working pair that I just needed to plug into the Keyboard LED harness on my IPAC. Let me know if you wanna make a deal.

That's good work man. I'm impressed.
If anyone can start making volcano switches with different colors, that would be awesome.
Oh, just thought of something that could be cool. Place a clear washer under the volcano button and light it underneath too. It could make a decent glow around the base. I might try that on my cabinet. If I can get light under it anyway :).

I've seen full Lunar Lander CP's go unsold on ebay a couple times over the last couple years.
What about a Moon War roller?
That looks alot like the proto Major Havoc roller I built using the guts from a Wico Command Control trackball, and a 3" caster I picked up at Home Depot.
I stuffed the shaft through the caster, put the encoder wheel on the end, and ran it through one of Oscar's optic cards.
I wanted to see if the roller HAD to have three axles, or if a center-only version would work.
It worked great, but I didn't like the appearance of the wheel itself, so I never mounted it properly.

I have two roller controllers from Moon War. I'm still thinking about putting one in my cp mostly for Major Havok but these are much larger then the Major Havok rollers so I don't know how its gonna feel. I guess its the next best thing but I really want the Major Havok one. Oscar toyed with the idea of reproducing them but I guess it was put on the shelf. :-\

There is a local arcade store near where I work called CA Robinson. They sell them for around $3.00. They only have the aluminum ones.

Those buttons remind me of the 1x1 round translucent lego blocks... the ones that you'd put on the top of an antenna?
