Well the computer monitor I have in my cab is lookin dead. I powered up the cab today and the sound and everything came on but the monitor was pitch black, not even a flicker. The power button is still glowing green and I can hear the monitor powering up but still just black. I threw on my LCD monitor from my home PC and everything looked fine, is it time to buy a replacement 21" monitor? ???

My brother bought a 21" nec monitor off of some guy really cheap because it wasn't working. He found out that nec is pretty leanient with their warranties and they let him send it in to get fixed for free.

Thats funny cause I have a NEC, but I bought refurbished awhile ago. My question is when a monitor goes dead does the screen just go black or is there something else I should look for? Could it be the cable? Since my monitor is powering on when my computer goes on I figured that the cable was still fine.

Well alright, now I'm thinking of just replacing the computer monitor with a TV, I'm already expecting flac but I would like to keep this cheap.

so it powers on meaning the little amber light on the monitor turns on? Does it make the sound of electronic dishcharge like it does when powering up normally or resuming from sleep? Have you looked closely at it to see if you can still see picture if not very faint? Tried the adjustments ont he front for contrast etc? Check the VGA cable for possible cuts or bent pins? Do you smell smoke or "hot" electronics? Have another PC to test it on just in case?

Yes I can still hear it " powering on", and the light turns amber to green, but there is NO picture, just black like my soul. No smell or heat coming off it, I tried the connections and still nothing. I do have a extra computer I can try the monitor on but when I used my home PC's LCD on the cab, it worked fine with the cab. Could it be the cable? Also I tried the controls and nothing showed on the screen at all, I though a menu or something would show. thanks
