Title: Stretching - mamewah vs command line
Post by: cerebus on August 23, 2005, 10:05:12 am
Ok, on certain games I'm getting poor performance when launching from mamewah, but different results when I run mamepp.exe from the command line.

My mamepp.ini has hwstretch 1; resolution 640x480.

If I launch super gem fighter from the command line runs at 55 fps but is _not_ fullscreen.
When I launch it from mamewah it's fullscreen but chugs...
Interestingly, a mamepp -showconfig displays up the settings in the ini file o.k. so I can only assume mame is failing on the hwstretch. I'd hazard a guess that my crappy onboard video doesn't support hwstretching, but before I go out and buy a new one can anyone confirm this is what is happening?

Try using mame.ini instead of mamepp.ini.  I recall some time ago we found out that MAME had a bug/feature(!) which essentially meant mame.ini would be used instead of mameexename.ini.
