Title: Atari Volcano light buttons
Post by: Smittydc on January 04, 2003, 11:12:26 am
OK, I'm trying to hook a couple of these up for coin, etc, and could use some help from someone who's done it.

I want to hook them up through the IPAC.  It seems that if you throw a 220 ohm resistor off the 5v line, it should work.  Has that been people's experience?

Any other advice is appreciated also.

Thanks!

I know ultimarc sells a LED harness thats ready to plug in. I think Andy has some instructions on his site on how to wire up your own LED's to the Ipac.

ebay is the best place to get those.  They usually come up on ebay at some point in time.

The old Atari games used a 330R resistor inline with the LED from the +5V for the start buttons.  I would follow the original specs and use 330R instead of 220R to help prevent burnout.

You are correct, you can get +5V from the IPAC header as described on the IPAC product info page at www.ultimarc.com.
