What would cause certain MAME Rom's to kick my video signal from TV out back to the monitor? Samurai Showdown 3 works perfect but if I load Samurai Showdown 1 or 2 it kicks it back to my monitor. Some other Roms do the same. After I exit the game is goes back to the TV. Is there something I am missing ???

The resolution it's dieing on is 320x204. I turned off scaling and the TV displayed garbage. So the TV definitely can't display that resolution. I'm going to be buying a new TV soon. Is there any way to check if a TV would be able to handle that resolution.
Also the resolution that does work is 304x204. Could there be a problem with the aspect ration?

What does a torn vertical image look like? Kinda sounds like how it is displaying. The only way I could get it to display was by turning off scaling then it had like 4 images at an angle and you could barely see what was on the screen. The Video card I am using is a 128mg Nvidia GeForce, don't have the exact model number, I'm at work right now.
I was testing some of the video card settings and sending differant resolutions to the TV and I got a similiar image with differant resolutions such as 300x200. I really want to stick with a TV for ease of use for GunCon gun's but I might have to rethink my plan if I can't get it to work with all my games. Is there any trouble shooting faq and list of steps to test the capabilities of my video card versus my TV? Thanks again for you help, really appreciate it. It's frustrating not being able to get my hardware to do what I want it too. :P

Most tv out on video cards are limited to a certain number of modes.
(640x480, 320x240, 800x600)
You might want to stick to those resolutions and enable hwstretch.
Later,
