I was just browsing Quarterarcade.com and came across a Multiwilliams cabinet with alternative artwork.

As far as I'm aware, the original Multiwilliams cabs only ran Williams games that shared the same basic hardware. This one runs a total of eight games some of which require different hardware. So I assume there is an emulator (possibly MAME) running under the skin.

It uses one of Clay's Jamma MW boards. There are 8 games on those. The original had 6 games, due to hardware limits.

Interesting, I wonder how that works. Doesn't Sinistar require a 49 way joystick?
Anyway, getting back on topic, I think this CPO looks pretty damn cool and would be a good candidate for vectorisation. Whoever designs these multigame graphics has a lot of talent. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any hi-rs images of it on the net yet.

Sinistar not only uses a 49 way hall effect stick, it also uses a vertical monitor, which is why Clay wouldn't add it to his kit (I asked, he explained why not. :) ).

These are the best pics of the art I've seen. I have really been considering doing this one too since a lot of it was done on the previous version of MW art. I haven't found a decent pic of the Moon Patrol car though. And it would be hard to do accurate blue dust with these pictures.

I like the old sideart much better.

Agreed. But to be honest if I was building a Multiwilliams machine I wouldn't use any of the 'official' Multiwilliams sideart. I'd prefer to design something simple and stencil-like as that would be more in keeping with the style of the original machines' sideart.
The Multiwilliams CPOs are a different matter. I love both designs.

That's a arcadeshop board and artwork.
(It's a jamma board running a custom emulator, designed by Clay)
I liked the control panel from arcadeshop better So I got it, but the marquee and sideart I used on mine is from phoenixarcade.

hmmm, he doesn't seem to have the marquee and bezel anymore?

I agree, with keeping it more original. When I was stenciling my Moon Patrol, it occurred to me that it would be cool to have MP sideart on one side, and Joust sideart on the other. :)
