Spent $12 yesterday on a quart of supposed "safety yellow" to match my Pac-man. Way off. And I have no real way of color matching the wall of my cab (they need a quarter-sized piece.) So, I went back and got a bunch of Sherwin Williams color-match cards, brought them home to see which was closest. None were very close. Then I started looking around the house for objects which might be close in color. Guess what matched the best? My yellow can of Goof Off I've been using to clean up the art!! Gotta love it. I cut it up with snips (was just about empty anyway) and hopefully they can scan and color match it.
Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with color matching? Is Sherwin Williams better or worse than Home Depot?

Did you look at Apollo's paint code page? I don't know if you bought an off-the-shelf color or if you used their specific mix as shown on the page below... I imagine with time/weathering it could vary quite a bit.

They also dispensed for me a cup of something which was almost, but not entirely unlike tea (ok I made that one up.)

Made it up after reading it from a Douglas Adams book, perhaps.

It's a quote from the Infocom text adventure.
which was based on the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.... at least one of them.
