I found this site looking for tricks to do with a laser pointer. I may have to build me one of these and create me some arcade related holograms.
This may be my next project

The "whoosh" sound you just heard was most of that site going right over my head. Care to explain to a dumbass how that works? Please use small words and speak slowly. :)

Holy crap, I think I have to build one of these.

It would be nice if he showed one of his shoebox setups in detail, so I could understand some of the finer points.

He wants you to buy his book on shoebox setups.

There are a few other sites that explain how to build a shoebox type setup, but still don't have a true step by step setup.
There is a site selling kits that have everything you need including developing solution and Holographic plates and/or film. They are between $99 - $125 for the whole kit.
I figure I have spent a crap load on this hobby, I might as well start another one that will suck more cash from me.
I just really want to make a Hologram of me flipping the bird, so when you walk by it you see my middle finger come up.

Holographic sideart would be truly kickass.

sounds like its not too expensive and VERY COOL !!!
too bad on the first scan, I have NO CLUE what he's talking about....
I would like to know it if anyone has more details.....

I have an arcade use in mind for this... oh wow would that be some kickass stuff.

I'm not sure how large of film you can use with a shoebox type kit. I know the 8 x 10 images have been taken, but anything larger then that would require a more powerful laser. The same site that sells the Student Kits also sells individual lasers and you can get some pretty powerful one for under $100.

Right, but something like a bezel would not require large holograms. It would require multiple small ones.
