I really want to put a working coin-door on my Mame cabinet.
What I want is a door with 2 coin slots (player 1 and player 2 slots) with the mechs. This is my first cab and not sure what to get and what is a good and/or reasonable price for a coin door. Of course I dont want to pay alot, but I also dont want to buy a beat up door on ebay that may or may not have working mechs and have to strip the paint and refinish it. I am looking for a "new" coin door that requires no maintenance.
Does anyone have any recomendations? Links would be appreciated.
Thanks

I never said I wanted a "cheap" working door and mech, but need suggestions, so I can compare and decide what I want to get in the end. Like I said I am not sure what is a reasonable or a good price for a coin door and need input from those who have experience buyibg them.
BTW- How much was the 4-way you got from Happ? I saw a 2-way for about $75 there a few weeks back.
Thanks

I bought a Midway coin door off of Ebay for $70.00 (shipping included) last year.
It's a two coin / 2 door Midway type.
It came with the coin mechs, two locks and keys.
The first door has the coin slots like the regular Midway (Pacman style) doors do.

Have you checked out the coin mechanisms being sold by Ultimarc?

Put a WTB in the B/S/T forum. You'll have one within a week.

I was looking at this one from Happ.

Anyone ever give this one a try?
I saw the ones from Ultimarc, dont like the looks, especially since coin door only has one coin slot.

conseit68(a member of this forum) has a couple on ebay now. Contact him and he may be able to pull one off for you. They look like they are in decent shape, and just need to be painted.
Good luck,
Patrick

Coin Mechs...
I have a couple WEI-YA HI-08CS coin selectors they work great.
These are electronic type that use a sample coin to compare
much like Coinmech brand CC-16's but much cheaper.
If the inserted coin matches the sample a relay like mechanism collects
the coin.
