Hi everyone, I'm having a weird problem that I'm hoping someone can help me with.
I have an older model Jpac that has been working perfectly in an older PC for over a year. I could not have been more happier with it. Well recently i purchased a new PC and set it up exactly the same way as the old one. the last thing i did was install the older ipac software from the www.ultimarc.com website not the new software but the old one. I installed and configured it the exact same way. I had both PC's on, the old PC was still in the arcade and the new PC was still being configure. This way i could make sure that the winipac software was configured the exact same way.
in the configuration its setup under the board tab.
I-PAC Model = IPAC/2
Chipset Version = OLD
I then hooked up the new PC to the arcade and the Jpac, When i try to program the Ipac on the new PC the first time it programs perfectly. The second time it fails and give me a message that said Failed make sure that the Ipac is connected. The third time it tells me to adjust the download time. (those may not be the exact errors). I tried turning the download time and the timeout all the way up. It took a lot longer to program but it did the same thing. If i reboot the PC and try to program again it works the first time but then the whole process starts over. I never removed the ipac the only thing i did was disconnect the keyboard for the back of the PC. So i decided to see if i messed up the ipac somehow so i reconnected the old PC and it worked perfectly every time i programmed it. I read on the net to remove the alt jumper and try it when it fails then put the jumper back on again. I tried that and it did not work.
I don't know what to try next. has anyone had the problem?
Thanks Everyone
Bill

I don't think you can program J-Pac whit I-Pac software ... Right ? Or am I missing something ...

You're missing something, but it sounds like it would be best to E-mail Andy at Ultimarc about this.

I emailed Andy before i posted this. I figured i would follow up with a post here to see if anyone else had this problem. I have always found this forum to be one of the best when it comes to knowledgeable people.
