Title: Family feud
Post by: Clonedsheep on August 16, 2005, 05:36:54 pm
My family was on the Family Feud TV show back in the 80's. Christmas time is coming up and I want to know how I would go about trying to find this episode. Has anyone done anything like this or could @ least point me in the right direction? I know it's a wierd question.

If you knew the name of the production company, you could contact them.

Who are YOU calling a wacko?

Richard Dawson RULES!

Think of all the gutter-trolls he has kissed...

Bah, Dawson was better on The Match Game, imo. :)

There were literally thousands of FF episodes.  If you have some interesting stuff already on tape, you can try to contact a tape trader who deals with game shows.  Some of these people get off on Lottery Scratch-Off Ticket Gameshows so if those air in your area you might have something.  Google "Game Show Tape Trade" and see what people are offering.

Be prepared to have a general idea (or better yet, an exact date) of when the show aired.  They will probably offer little, if any, help trying to track it down in their collection and they are pretty surly if you even ask.

Or, a better option: GSN runs old eps of FF almost daily.  Check your listings and start recording it religiously EVERY time it's on (have you thought about buying a Tivo - because now's a good time).  You might get lucky and nab the episode you're looking for.

If GSN shows Family Feud (I've never watched that network, so I'll just have to take your word for it) it would probably be worth shooting them an email. Who knows, you may catch someone in a good mood who's willing to help you out.
