What is the surface like (e.g. paint, stripped to wood, vinyl, etc.) ?

Cheers.

What kind of paint ? If this was an existing cabinet, then what surface prep did you do ?

Basically tell us as much as you can, including what kind of contact paper.

Cheers.

Alright well the cab was a MameRoom.com arcade machine before they started selling their cabs with the black color already on them. So just the plain wood.

The spray paint was America's Finest by Rust-Oleum (Fast Dry All Purpose Interior/Exterior)

The surface should have been clean and dry (and un-waxed!) before applying the contact paper. By the way, contact paper isn't very good in the sticking department anyway. You should use commercial grade vending machine/amusement game self-stick vinyl instead.
