SOMEONE PLEASE hook me up with this card, my wife is ready to kill me and i want to get my cocktail machine up and running for her. Please PLEASE PLEASE hook me up!!

Just so you don't think everyone is ignoring you ... I have an ArcadeVGA card, but it is for a project, so I would have to replace it (and then pay the shipping and duty again) ... I suspect that most of the in-the-box AracadeVGAs out there are in similar circumstances ... hence the lack of deals (unless someone upgrades).
Good luck.
Cheers.

My suggestion is to keep watching ebay. I've seen plenty of used older model ArcadeVGA's being sold there. Plus shipping ought to be sheaper. (At least I would hope so.)
-
I would completely disagree with Alan and ignore eBay at all costs.
The last 3 AVGA cards I've seen on there *both old and new versions* went for more than they are new at Ultimarc. Even after shipping from Ultimarc, it would have been cheaper on 2 of the 3 auctions. There is also an old version on ebay right now that starts at 90 bux. Stupid if you ask me.
I hope you find a deal, but it is very seldom that these seem to get sold. Maybe you can be super nice to the old lady and convince her a new one is the way to go ;)
-
Oh, I only mention it because I saw one sell for decently cheap lately. I don't generally price them out since I don't need one. I just happened to see one. Maybe I was witness to a particularly good deal. I just read a couple of other posts about over-priced ArcadeVGA's on ebay, though.

I've seen a few nice prieced ones there too, but lately it's been crazy. I tend to search for them and watch them when I surf ebay just to see what they go for, and it's been getting a bit crazy.
Even though Andy backs everything, I just don't see why anyone would pay MORE for something you can get from the manufacturer directly... just doesn't make sense to me.

there's always http://www.ultimarc.com/
but them I'm just a wise-guy.

Yes i have been watching ebay, but i will not go go over like $50 US on ebay as i can get a new one shipped from Andy for like $100, if i can not find a deal on one here, i will get it from Andy and tell my wife it only costs $50 ;)
LOL...PLEASE do not tell my wife i said that!
Thanks guys
Ken

Well I don't think you're going to find one anywhere for $50. They just do one thing. So if they're working and doing their one thing, they're going to retain the vast majority of their original value.

Anyone thougt the one's on e-bay also might be bootlegs ?
After all, the ArcadeVGA is just a Radeon (7000 or 9200) with a tweaked BIOS.

My understanding its its a bit more than that... I doubt anyone is making bootlegs for something in such small demand (in the grand scheme of things).

Ow, I thought that really was the only difference. What else would there be neccesary to change on that card to make it an ArcadeVGA ? Can't think of anything really, but them, I'm not an expert :)
Sure, there's little demand, but if it's just a re-flash of the bios with the ArcadeVGA bios, then it's very easily and quickly done, and doubling (or tripling, seeing current EBAY sale prices) the value of an old style Radeon card. (Especialy with a 7000 !)
Hope it's also some hardware change, then we don't have to worry about this at all :)
