I went to an arcade auction today and saw an arcade game I had never seen before. It was based on the SPAWN comic book/movie. Does anyone know if there is a MAME port?

Spawn is a NAOMI game. Sorry, this will not be in MAME for a really long time.

However the Dreamcast version is nearly a perfect port.
I have both the NAOMI version and it on DC and other than blood color it is hard to tell the difference.

I am not familiar w/NAMOI. Could you point me in the right direction as? Is it a emulator? Thanks...

its an arcade format not an emulator.

why didn't you just buy the cab?

As has already been said, there is an almost arcade-perfect conversion for DreamCast (as is the case with 99% of Naomi games, thanks to the near identical hardware between the two).
Buying a second-hand dreamcast + this game will save you several hundred dollars compared to buying the dedicated naomi system + game.
For more information on Naomi, see the System16 Arcade Museum:

I would have loved to but I have only room for one and since I just spent close to $1500 on my current Mame Cab. I could not justify the cost. I will take a look at the Dreamcast system however. I also noticed there is a Dreamcast Emulator so that might work as well.

DreamCast emulators are far from complete, and require a fair bit of processing power to work. I would go for the real thing.
If you're in the US, you can buy a second-hand dreamcast for $20 from EB. Outside of the US, DreamCasts can be bought for next to nothing from eBay.

Hmmmm.. OK... Sounds good! Thanks.. I will see what I can find.

Anyone here keeping up with the emulation of the dreamcast scene? I'm curious to hear how it is doing.

I like playing my naomi more then my dc. But, you can always try out excellentcom.net for their console to arcade setups....and have tons of dc games on your cab.

I was just playing Spawn the other day and honestly, I find the game just as boring as I did on the dreamcast,lol...I enjoyed heavy metal geomatrix more, although many people leaned the other way. I mostly play Virtua NBA and Project Justice on the Naomi though.
I do have to say though...powerstone ROCKS on the cab :)
