Greetings again!....
NEW INFO-- 9/28/05
I wanted to let you guys know that I've "branched out" into writing the occassional article for Kevin's retroblast.com.
In case you haven't seen it yet...I wrote a 2 part article on the machines that I was talking about in this thread (Tekken and Metal Slug Pachislo Slot Machines).
Head over and check 'em out....I hope you like them!!!!....and let me know what you think. I can take it (I hope! :P )
Part 1--
http://tinyurl.com/ayt9t
Part 2--
http://tinyurl.com/cqas2
Also look for my articles on Ben Heck's Atari Phoenix on Retroblast as well!.......
See ya!
Right before I went on vacation I won a ebay auction for this really cool looking Metal Slug Slot Machine!--
I think I got a good deal....(paid $320. with shipping and 1000 tokens).....but I won't actually get it for about a week or so....so I'll have to let you know for sure then....
If you're curious to see it...follow this link to their regular webpage....there's a short video of the machine in action (at the bottom of their webpage). It has a full color 10 inch LCD screen that plays customized Metal Slug scenes that play along with your game as you win/lose.....
http://www.stealthhomeamusement.com/meslpaslma.html
Since I got it off Ebay (they seem to post just about all of their machines their at lower prices then their website)....if you want to try to get one that way for less.
I'll let you know how it is once I get it!

Sweet. if that interests you, take a look at this Tekken pachislo machine that was released to coincide with Tekken 5. Scroll down the page a bit there's a link to a video of the machine's HD screen:
Tekken 5 Machine (http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Tekken-HiDef-12-HD-LCD-Slot-Machine-NR_W0QQitemZ6196698738QQcategoryZ13729QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
I want that one for my future games room. :)
-
Wow!...that's a really hot looking machine!....If I had the space I would pick that up for sure!....these arcade themed machines seem to be a new trend.
Thanks for the link!...(now I'll have to bookmark and hide it from my wife!).

These things use tokens? Do they take quarters for play and also dispense them as winnings? Can they be changed to take and dispense different sized coins? For instance the BYOAC tokens or quarters...
-
...apparently the machine I bought uses the exact same sized tokens as the BYOAC tokens....
I thought about buying a bunch of the BYOAC tokens for my new slot....but it would be really expensive to fill the machine.
For example I bought 500 tokens for $40. bucks (my machine comes with a set of 500 so now I'll have a 1000).....but, the BYOAC tokens are much much more for that kind of amount.
Regarding the ability to change to use with quarters....I'm pretty sure it can be done....but the company told me basically to google it to figure out how to do it as they can't sell them for use with US quarters.....but again, I'm positive it can be done.
-
Neat slot. I saw it on ebay and nearly bid on it myself. Glad you won it.

.....holy cow!....super cool!
I just got my machine last week.....WOW. It is SO MUCH FUN!
I came across our BOYAC mirror universe called---- pachitalk.com in case anyone wants to know more about these machines.
Thankfully, the vendor I bought it from was great! (http://www.stealthhomeamusement.com/stealthhome/index.html) and shipped superfast (3 days) and gave me a fair price. Considering that these machines sell new for $2,000 + my $330. (including shipping, 1000 tokens- same size as our mame tokens and 10 free bulbs!) was a bargain.
The machine literally looks, plays and sounds brand new! Whoo Hoo!...new stuff to acquire!
Now I want the Tekken slot machine!!!!

.....well you're right...but I was kinda' lazy. The photo at the top is of the front of a Metal Slug....just not mine.
If you follow the link in my first post (top of this page) and click on the video...you'll see my machine in action. I was told they used mine for the video!

Holy Cow....I just got my new TEKKEN slot machine....this thing is absolutely stunning!....12" wide x 5" high HDTV built in that plays customized "fights" whose outcomes depend on how well you're doing.....
Here's a pic from a website (not my machine)--- and a link to an English translation of the Japanese website-
http://tinyurl.com/9upk6
I got the machine from the same vendor as the Metal Slug.....and this one literally looks brand new!...even the token slot looks shiny and new....which makes me wonder if this was even used. The machine itself was manufactured June of 2004.
Here's a link to a short video of the HDTV game play--
http://www1.yamasa.co.jp/tekken/index.html
It was more expensive than the Metal Slug....and came out $350. + $70. shipping.
Pricey....but super cool!

Who would need lessons? Here it is:
Take off clothes
Dance slowly
Look like Reese Witherspoon

Look like Reese Witherspoon
This is the part that (sadly) seems to give most women a lot of trouble.

It is an erotic art.
-
If there's some place that gives lessons on looking like Reese Witherspoon, I really think that we should make it mandatory for all fat and/or ugly chicks to attend. Stingray for President.
-S
-
There are places like that, but the admission standards are so freakin high that almost no one gets in.
After all, in order to graduate, you have to look like Reese Witherspoon.
-
Forced re-education would seem to be in order.
Stingray for Emperor.

Damn you boys are harsh.
-
...uh, what happended to my slot machine thread?? :police:
and for those of you interested, here's the new Reese Pachislo Machine---
-
Can I come over to your house and play with your latest toy? I can't wait to get my hands on Reese's pieces.

OK... After reading your review and being that last week was my birthday I hit the the big birthday bonus at work I broke down and purchased a "Beast Sapp" machine from Stealth. They mislabeled it on Ebay and it went for too cheap to pass up.
I can't wait to see the 18" LCD on this baby. I've been a Bob Sapp fan since he fought in Pride.
Next is a pachinko machine... Either a Spider-man or Jurassic Park. I would get a LOTR, but they are too expensive for me.
-
congrats!...I think you'll find this as addictive as I have!...enjoy your new toy. You're going to be surprised just how big these things are!!!

Congrats on getting your review published. I'm afraid to read it though. If I do, I'm sure to shell out the bucks for one of these babys myself. ;)

nice pachislos, im a pachinko fan myself. looking into buying one soon, have you played a real one yet? theyre awesome

.....Kevin said he'll do the pachinko story.....I'm not as into the pachinko's personally......but I may eventually get one (Star Wars looks super hot- or one of the Pac Man or Sonic ones) to fill out my "collection". The problem I'm dealing with for now is physical lack of space. I now have a full arcade cab; tons of arcade related stuff (ex- 7 of my "modules" for my mame invaders) a full cocktail cab; a supergun; Sega ST-V; Xboxe(s); Neo Geo 1 slot.......3 slot machines....ton's of other stuff.......holy cow I have a lot of stuff.
But that's all jammed into a small bedroom that's also the guest/office......and uh, gameroom.....for now.....sigh. :-[
-
you could easily mount a pachinko on a wall or shelf, come on now!
-

....sigh. Ceiling would be more like it. Something about "family photos" and some other such my wife talks about on the little wall space there is.......living in Manhattan is cool....but not conducive to a home arcade.
-
yeah i used to have those "picture" things, then i got 2 more guitars and another amp, there was no room =p
