Anyone know what type of casters I can get to screw into my classic Pac cabinet? The bottom has 4 built-in metal corner plates with screw holes in them. I think I read some cabinets use a 3/8" one, but I dunno. I just don't know where to find the right threaded caster to screw in there. Would leg levelers be a better idea? (And then where to find those?) That would be harder to move, but then I don't have to worry about it rolling or tipping (even with brake casters.)

I have yet to find threaded casters. Leg levelers are infintely easier to come by. On one of my machines, I removed the 4 threaded plates and installed casters with their own build in mounting plates.
One thing to keep in mind about casters is that they're guaranteed to raise your whole cab up at least a couple of inches. Leg levelers can be dropped down, but casters can't.

I saw them at home depot last night when i was picking up some supplies (the ones on the right). The box said it would only give the appliance/cab a 1 1/4" increase in height. I was thinking of using them on one of my cabs.

The original cabinet used leg levellers. Pretty standard size. You can buy em in lots of hardware places, or online from Arcade Renovations, ArcadeShop, Bob Roberts, etc.

Do the leg levelers come with the same thread though? That'd be best. I wouldn't want the height raised, I don't think. I bought a hand-truck, so moving it isn't really much of a problem. As long as the wood is off the floor, it's fine.
Second question - how to repair cracking/peeling cabinet wood on the base? I was thinking I would put wood glue between the parts that are shearing off, and clamp it till it dries. Then once all the existing pieces of wood are securely bonded, fill in the missing parts with bondo (?) Then sand smooth, and paint. Any better ideas would be appreciated.

Search for Ball Casters they will work great if you are on carpet, but without some locking foot they would slide easily on flat floors. They are still have adjustable height like leveling pads too.

It would probably be a flat floor. Nice product, but I would definitely need the wheels to lock. I think I will just go with levelers.

Home depot has a nice heavy duty castor that is threaded. It's a replacement fo a Rigid Table saw. It was very heavy duty and had a wheel lock on it. I don't know what the thread size was. From memory it was either 3/8-16 or 1/2-13.

Hmm, I was just at Home Depot and I didn't notice that in with their other casters. They actually had screw-in "gliders", almost exactly what I wanted, but it was a 5/16" bolt, and I didn't trust that it would fit a 3/8". (I think classic cabs use 3/8"?) I ended up just buying some "ultra heavy duty felt pads" for $3.50. I am kinda second guessing it now though. Maybe I should have tried that 5/16" thread glider to see if it would have fit. Oh well.

I think they were about 10 or 12 dollars each.

Errrr. $10-12 per caster or per set? Per caster and I think I'll stick with felt pads. ;D Happ has gliders (leg levelers) for under $1 each but they have outrageous handling fees, unless I was buying $25 or more of something there... (maybe if I get a monitor there then I will get their levelers added on to it.)
