It's the way the parsecode works with the BBC tags in SMF. I think they fixed this in their upcoming 1.1 release. For now, the only way is to fix it as Saint did.

Depends on the browser as well.  I don't remember seeing it in IE, but it sure does stretch everything in FireFox.
