Title: Cabinet mounting brackets bigger than monitor frame....
Post by: Thurman on August 09, 2005, 10:49:08 am
The mounting brackets in my cabinet were originally holding up a 25" monitor.  I had to remove that monitor and now I'm trying to replace it with a 20" monitor.  So obviously the monitor frame and mounting holes on this new monitor are too small for the cabinet brackets.  I'd like to be able to use the existing cabinet brackets if possible.  Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get this setup to work?

Here's a pic for reference.....

Make an adapter plate out of wood or metal.

I did this exact thing with angle iron. I can take a picture when I get home. I didn't build a full adapter plate like Iz mentioned. I just installed cross bracing and hung it from that. It's almost as if the monitor is floating in all that empty space, but it's toally secure. I noticed your monitor doesn't have mounting brackets of any sort though. That would make my method still possible, but certainly more difficult.
