This one is going to be a long project as I live in an apartment and rarely have access to the right tools to do any of this. I'll mostly be working on it when I'm at home for weekends / spring break / ect. This weekend I decided to start it off with the control panel. This is my first time doing something like this at all and I just finished a little bit ago and snapped some shots (shown below).
I am going to setup a real website with my progress and everything, but that's still later to come. Although I am going to an auction Feb 1st, I will most likely end up building the whole cab from scratch. I still need to put together an overlay, and most imporantly GET A NAME!! :P
Besides the CP I also have the computer setup... nothing powerfull here since I built it using all spare parts.
It's a P3 733 / 384 Ram / Geforce 1 / SB 128 :)
Anyways, here's some pictures... coments are always welcome!

I like the cut you did on the corners. Nice!

One constructive criticism. Before you install controls and wire that thing up you might want to think about having it open in the opposite direction. Once everything is in there the joysticks may hit the glass on your cab plus you have to figure out some mounting scheme to get it to open in the first place butted flush up against the cab.
Unfortunately I learned from experience. Mine opens like yours and I can't open it all the way, so it doesn't stay open without holding it.

heh a few people already asked me why pink... the pink is just the plexi covering... i haven't created an overlay i'm ready to print yet so i'm not peeling the protective film until then :)
