I picked up a couple of old arcade cabinets...one I want to restore the cab itself, but the other I'm going to customize...
There are wires all over the place...I was going to try and keep everything intact if I could and just place them in a box, just in case someone needed something I may have (power suply, wiring harness, etc)...
There are no monitors, so I want to make a shelf for a 27" TV...I'm hoping I can get the bezels to fit...I'd rether not have to decase the TVs either...
Anyway, is there anything I should know about stripping these things...or do I just disconnect everything an pull it out??

If you're using a PC and a TV you can take out pretty much everything. I'd suggest being careful with the wires that lead into the top, though. You'll likely want to keep the wiring for the power switch and lights. Other than that, though, just go ahead and pull it out.

Both switches on these things are on/off switches, I want to put in a momentary switch for that and run it to the PC mobo...I may reuse the lights, but I was thinking of getting the cold cathode type...I have a smart strip power bar, so a light I can plug in, or hook up to the PC power supply, will be what I use...I guess I'll just pull everything out and replace anything that needs to be...
Is there any reason to keep all the wiring harness, power supply, I40, etc??

Does anyone know if "Hit The Ice" was painted orange or was that a big sticker? The cab I have was painted black, but you can see the HTI artwork through it...I plan to just strip it all and either paint or laminate it...
Suggestions?

Just take lots of pictures before you start stripping (the case that is), you'll end up referring to them, especially on the one you want to restore.

Well, I'm only restoring the cabinet itself (Killer Instinct)...I have no PCB or monitor...I was thinking of making it have swappable control panels, and the other cab I have will just have a giant franken-panel...
