I need to make a quick few bucks so I'm finally getting around to cleaning several 3" Betson/Imperial Trackballs.
They will be cleaned and I'll put in new rollers, bearings, and 3" white trackballs. The only pieces that will be used are the plastic cases and the optics and encoder wheels, but they are in very good condition. I have both the regular and the high lip version with the spacer. I have at least 10 of them with refurbished kits, but I may have more I need to check.
I'll sell them for $25 a piece plus $6 shipping (priority mail) anywhere in the lower US.
If you are interested or have any questions, PM me or email me at mperry@miavio.com.
I'll accept Paypal (paypal@miavio.com), money orders or personal checks made out to Miavio Technologies LLC. Thanks for looking.
Mike

By the way, I also have several brand new Kensington USB mice that are perfect for hacking and using with these trackballs. If anyone is interested, add $3 to cover the mouse and the additional weight/shipping expense these mice will add to the trackball. If you want just a mouse by itself, the cost would be $5.50 (includes shipping priority mail).

Got it and replied. Thanks.

Edited first message to include new Kensington USB hackable mice for sale.

What type of clearance do these things have? My CP is routed underneath, and I have 1/8" plexi over it. My goal is to have just the 3" hole in the panel.
Thanks,

I have some of the high lip versions that would allow clearance for a thicker cover over the CP. They also come with the spacer that would allow them to act like a standard trackball.

You have PM!

Just bumping this up in case anyone else is interested. I checked my storage room and I have a lot more trackballs than I remembered, so there are plenty left if anyone wants one.
-
This deserves a bump for super quick shipping and a great transaction. I ordered early in the week and it shows up Friday, just in time for the weekend. Gotta love it when you come home to find goodies awaiting to be hacked on your desk ;)
Thanks!

Thanks for the praise. Glad it got there quickly. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

How does the mouse hack work with these?? Is it easy? Do the optics need to be switched out??
Thanks, Patrick
-
The mouse hack basically consists of de-soldering the optics on the pcb board of the mouse and then creating a harness that connects to the trackball connector and soldering it's wires to the proper areas left by the removed optics on the mouse.
These sites should help explain it.

The mouse hack took me about 10 minutes. Easy as pie. I can take some high res pictures if it is beneficial.
EDIT:

Starts on page 5 and goes to page 6. Very simple, just desolder the microswiches and the optics, and hook it up. Check the wiring matchups and your good to go.

I'll bump this too for fast shipping and good packaging. Can't wait to set it up, maybe then I'll find out what the big deal about Quantum is...

Another bump for fast shipping and a generally great deal
Thanks!!

Would you care to just sell a refurb kit? I already have one of these trackballs, but mine is in need of being refurbished.
