I am after some multi-coloured wire to wire my CP. I have been given a few suggestions such as ethernet cable and bell wire but the wires in the ethernet cable I got (15-way) are far to fine. It has come in handy for hacking some DC pads but I am after something more substancial for the main CP. Ideally I am after a supplier that sells multi-colour wire similar to what is supplied in Ultimarcs wiring kits.
Any sources guys?

Hi Franco
I suppose it depends on how much you want but maybe somewhere like www.screwfix.com might be of help.
Or there's always your local B&Q

Thanks andy.p
I seached our B&Q superstore for some wire for my last CP. The most suitable thing I could find was seven core alarm flex but it was still to thin.
Ill go check out screw fix though.

Thanks for the link. Seems that they only sell in bulk though, kinda 25m+. I only really want a couple of meters. I may just end up buying a load and then selling some to other members if they want it.

www.maplin.co.uk - I get most of my electronics stuff from here...not bad price and shipping is usually very quick.

Yeah thats where I got the Ethernet mutlicore from. I couldnt really see anything else. Have you bought some suitable wire from there? Im looking for somewhere in the region of 24AWG (7/0.2mm).

Yes, but I forget the gauge of wire (sorry)...some would argue the stuff I have is a bit thick, seems ok to me though and holds well in crimps, which can be a problem with thin stuff.

I emailed Maplins to see if they could recommend some cable from there stock but the nearest thing they have available (I wanted at least 12 strands at 22AWG - 7/0.2) was this cable:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=230&&source=14&doy=9m8
which is 7/0.1 i.e twice as thin as 22AWG and isnt thick enough.
Anyone else have any ideas? I may try emailing Andy to see if he will sell me 5m or so of each wire or if he knows of somewhere I can buy it from.
